List of shorts

  • Happy Christmas, Mega Man! (ハッピークリスマス、ロックマン!): It's Christmas in Monsteropolis, and Mega Man & Otaka join in the festivities with music and cheer. Reimu Hakurei gives both of them gifts.
  • Christmas Eve at Otaka's House (大高の家でクリスマスイブ): Otaka invites Mega Man and Proto Man to her house on Christmas Eve.
  • Happy New Year! (明けましておめでとうございます!): Yuuta and Akane commemorate with Mega Man and Roll. But who will go to the show? After deciding who will go to the show, the kids, Mega Man, and Roll ring in the new year with otoshidama, games, poetry, music, dancing, postcards and food (like kurikinton and mochis), and watch the celebrations on TV (Kohaku Uta Gassen is one of the shows they watch). They also go to a temple and watch bell-ringing. They also receive a surprise visit from Otaka! This is one of the episodes where Roll doesn't die.
  • Even Slaves Celebrate Xmas (でも、スレーブはクリスマスを祝う): Terra makes Mega Man his slave. Otaka comes to see him and gives him a present.
  • Mega Man's Christmas Party (ロックマンのクリスマスパーティー): After Mega Man is kidnapped by Proto Man (with the help of Bass) and taken to his castle, Mega Man decides to throw a Christmas party to get Otaka to rescue him.
  • Yuuta and Akane's Christmas Festivities (雄太とあかねのクリスマスお祭り): Yuuta and Akane pull Mega Man and Roll out of the game world to celebrate Christmas (AND turn off the NES after they pull them out, just like in "Happy New Year!"). Mega Man and Roll join the kids in the festivities with giving and opening gifts, singing songs, and eating fried chicken. Otaka arrives to give Mega Man a hug. Roll doesn't die in this one.
  • Get Up, Get Down with the Sickness (ゲットアップ病気と降りる): Mega Man gets sick with Roboenza on Christmas Eve, so it's up to Otaka to cure him.
  • Evil Can Celebrate?! (悪は祝うことができます?!): Mega Man gets infected by Evil Energy on Christmas. Meanwhile, Peach is holding a Christmas party at her castle, and Mega Man wants to go there. So he and Otaka go to the castle, and Mega Man, although he's evil, is the star of the party!
  • Is Mega Man Jealous of Bass? (フォルテのロックマン嫉妬はありますか?): Otaka's Christmas party leaves Mega Man feeling sick with jealousy of Bass. Otaka goes to hunt down Bass, only to realize that he's jealous of Mega Man too. Otaka tries to cure Mega Man before Reimu's big Christmas party starts.
  • Christmas in Tokyo (東京のクリスマス): Yuuta and Akane invite Mega Man and Roll to a big Christmas festival. There's caroling, dancing, booths with toys and presents, a parade to celebrate the joyful occasion, games, and a fireworks display and snow sculpture display. Otaka visits them and surprises the kids with candy. Roll doesn't die in this one.
  • The Year-End Fair (年の市): Yuuta and Akane take Mega Man and Roll to the year-end fair. They watch people trade items and explain that trading items that people need is a great way to end the old year and start off the new year. Roll doesn't die in this one.
  • The First Snowfall (初雪): Mega Man and Otaka go outside in the snow. This short is dedicated to Konnichiku, Rosy's sister.
  • Christmas with the Knights (騎士団とのクリスマス): Otaka invites her friends Luce, Marine, and Anemone to her house for Christmas, thus having the Robot Masters meet the Magic Knights.
  • Partying with Wedding Peach (ウェディングピーチでパーティー): Momoko, Yuri, Hinagiku, Scarlett, and Hiromi end up in Monsteropolis, leading Otaka to invite them to her New Years celebration.
  • Last-Minute Christmas Shopping (ラストミニッツクリスマスショッピング): Christmas shopping wreaks havoc.

Running Gags

There has been some running gags in the shorts.

The most obvious one is having Roll die, due to Otaka's love interest being Mega Man. Here is how she dies in the shorts:

  • Happy Christmas, Mega Man!: The band ROLL performs in the Christmas concert. Miss Roll (the lead singer of ROLL) presents a new song in front of everyone, "KAZE yo, Tsutaete..." which everybody hates. After she is done singing the song, the audience boos and throws tomatoes at her. Eventually, somebody shoots her, killing her.
  • Christmas Eve at Otaka's House: Roll disses the Toploader and Nintoaster, which causes an explosion to happen.
  • Even Slaves Celebrate Xmas: The band ROLL performs again. Miss Roll sings "Cleanup of My Soul", which everyone hates again. After the performance, Miss Roll advises everybody to buy a Game Boy (which is her favorite console), and someone in the audience sentences her to murder. Miss Roll dies.
  • Mega Man's Christmas Party: Roll says she doesn't like Kirby's Adventure and is hung.
  • Get Up, Get Down with the Sickness: Roll thinks Ryu Hayabusa shouldn't die. Her throat is slit by Otaka.
  • Evil Can Celebrate?!: Miss Roll, her fans, and her band ROLL are dancing on bleachers. The bleachers fall over, killing Miss Roll, her band, and the fans.
  • Is Mega Man Jealous of Bass?: Roll fails at the trumpet at Otaka's party, leading Proto Man to force her to commit suicide.
  • Christmas with the Knights: Roll stumbles off a staircase and bashes her head open.
  • Partying with Wedding Peach: Yuri tries to show Otaka one of her attacks, and the attack accidentally hits Roll, killing her.
  • Last-Minute Christmas Shopping: Bass gets irritated with Roll and high-kicks her, killing her.

Some other running gags are:

  • Otaka squealing
  • Mega Man yelling "ONE SPECIAL ROBERT!" (this is an in-joke)
  • Otaka screaming "IT'S CHRISTMAS!" (Nostalgia Critic reference)
  • Miss Roll singing (which leads to the "Roll dies" gag)
  • Characters getting pissed off at the 1986 arcade game Rolling Thunder (usually freaked out by the Game Over screen).
  • Proto Man yelling "SNOW!"
  • "STUFF!" when Otaka's plans work
  • "EFFECTS!" whenever a character hears a laser zap, often referencing the 1982 Disney film TRON.
  • A Touhou meme being referenced (Sakuya's pads meme comes to mind, as well as Reimu's armpits meme)
  • Someone calling Capcom a god
    • Someone calling Sega a god (in-joke)
  • Characters thinking the Virtual Boy is awesome
    • The Virtual Boy is shown being played by Otaka at the very beginning of "Christmas Eve at Otaka's House", where the screen is not red and black and is in color, a two-player link is shown, and actually is worth playing. (The game being played is Waterworld, and Otaka yells "STUFF!", referencing the Nostalgia Critic's review of the movie the game was based on.)
  • Mega Man collapsing when he gets sick
  • Kasen hugging Bass
  • In "Christmas with the Knights", Luce dragging out her name. (e.g. "Luuuuuuuuuuuccceeeee...")
  • In "Partying with Wedding Peach", Hinagiku yelling "I DIDN'T MEAN TO DO THAT!".
  • In "Last-Minute Christmas Shopping", Ranka and Otaka rioting.
  • "SPIK SPEGLE" in "Evil Can Celebrate?!"
