Plot[]

Dr. Wily plans to steal the Robotropolis Christmas tree on the night of Christmas Eve and replace it with his new and improved Wily Castle. While Bass thinks this is a bad idea, Dr. Wily remains adamant on going through with it. Meanwhile, the Otaka family has moved in next door to Dr. Light's laboratory, and Mega Man becomes friendly with their children, especially Danielle.

A bunch of Robot Masters are sent out to heist the Christmas tree, and when Mega Man hears the news, he becomes upset he has to fight crime on the holidays and wishes he stayed a household robot like his sister Roll. As he walks into his room, Mega Man meets Tessa, his apparent guardian angel who proceeds to show him what life would be like if he was never a fighting robot. Roll would've been lonely, Proto Man would've been turned against Dr. Light, Bass would've never existed at all, and Dr. Wily would've taken over the world with his reprogrammed Robot Masters.

Afterwards, Mega Man realizes Tessa is right and he should be thankful he's a fighting robot. He goes out into Wily Castle and defeats Dr. Wily, then afterwards flies on Rush to Wily's headquarters and retrieves the Christmas tree after saving Bass from the collapsing castle. Everyone celebrates Mega Man's success and looks forward to having a great Christmas.

Trivia[]

  • The idea for this special came from the Nostalgia Critic's Christmas special, "You're a Rotten Dirty Bastard," which has a similar plot.
    • The title from this special also comes from a line in that special, "But did you know that there was a Christmas that almost wasn't?"
  • The name of the guardian angel, Tessa, comes from a dog Konnichiku is familiar with.
