Zero (Mega Man X)

Zero is a major character in the Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero series.

He was created by Dr. Wily based on what he learned when creating a Bass in an aquarium and reading a book about hairstyles and computer viruses.

Mega Man X

He dies.

Mega Man X2

He revives.

Mega Man Xtreme

He is a summoning spell.

Mega Man X3

He goes on missions but only goofs around.

Mega Man Xtreme 2

He meets Iris and works hard to impress her.

Mega Man X4

Zero and Iris start a relationship, but her brother doesn't approve their romance and they start a war between their families.

Zero's family, the Maverick Hunters, defeat the Repliforce, and Sigma while at it. Unfortunately, Iris dies in the war and Zero asks "WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOR!?"

Mega Man X5

He dies again.

Mega Man X6

He revives again. He either returns to work with the Maverick Hunters or disappears to sleep for several years, eventually awakening in the Elf Wars.

Mega Man X7

He is annoyed with his team because he is the only that is (finally) working seriously.

Mega Man X8

He is depressed and lost some weight.

Mega Man X: Command Mission

He wants to work alone, but is pestered by his friends to returns to the team.

Elf Wars

After awakening from his long sleep started in Mega Man X6, Zero helps X save the world in a crazy war that wiped out more than half of Earth's habitants. After that he returns to his bed, and freezes himself so X will not awake him again.

Mega Man Zero series

Mega Man Zero

Ciel is desperate and wants badly someone to marry her to help her defeat her X-husband Copy X. She finds Zero and forces him to wake up, which results in him getting amnesia and being forced to do everything she asks. She convinces Zero that he is a member of her Resistance against Neo Arcadia and they are engaged, but to marry without the risk of being captured they must destroy Neo Arcadia's leader. He does so, but runs away from her to avoid the marriage.

Mega Man Zero 2

After goofing around and drinking for one year, Zero is eventually found drunk near the New Resistance Base and Ciel forces him to work for her. She also got a new boyfriend called Elpizo in hopes of making him jealous, but it is Elpizo that gets jealous and he tries to impress Ciel by destroying Neo Arcadia. He fails miserably and feels humiliated by the fact Zero saved him, the only survivor from his attack. Elpizo is decided to impress Ciel and tries to destroy Neo Arcadia by getting the Dark Elf, causing some confusion until Zero finds him in a huge tower from Neo Arcadia. Elpizo shows that he is strong by destroying the body of the original X (who could no longer move due to his old age, helping Zero as a ghost) and frees the Dark Elf, taking its power. He goes power mad and tries to kill Zero, but Zero shows who is the boss and defeats Elpizo, who dies due to the battle injures and becomes a ghost, but he promises that he will not haunt him and leaves.

Mega Man Zero 3

Zero discovers that while he was sleeping between Mega Man X6 and the Elf Wars, Dr. Weil stole his body and left his head behind. His body was used to create Omega, and his head got a new remodelled body (Dr. Weil liked the new design and the idea of an evil twin, so he remodelled Omega to have the same design and gave him a giant armor). Despite being in disadvantage, Zero uses the power of friendship to destroy Omega, but it also costs the life of his friends, including the ghost of X.

Mega Man Zero 4

Zero dies yet again and rest in pieces. Some say that he survived but disappeared to avoid marrying with Ciel.

Mega Man ZX series

Some pieces of Zero's body and soul became a talking rock. The rock can give his strength to a few people so he doesn't need to do anything and sleep while others do his job. The rock is also quite depressed due to the years it spent with Ciel before she became senile and passed away. The rock also dies when it sacrifices itself to save his friends.
